Objectives:

This department aims at training professional translators and interpreters. At the end of training courses,  the trainees will be granted a valid certificate and they will be able to deal with a variety of subjects such as scientific, literary, political, social, cultural, economic and etc.

 

Course Introduction:

Translator and interpreter training Courses have been held at the Goldis Institute since the winter semester of 1397. The courses are provided in two educational packages that will help students and translators in professional and academic translations or interpretations.

 

Duration of this Course:

Preparation course: 75 sessions (5 terms, each term 15 sessions, each session is about 90 minutes)

Translation course: 150 sessions (10 terms, each term 15 sessions, each session is about 90 minutes)

Interpretation course: 150 sessions (10 terms, each term 15 sessions, each session is about 90 minutes)

Registration and placement test:

All the applicants should attend the designated unit and participate in placement test. After getting the  results, on the same day or the other day, oral test will be held. Then the information required for registration will be given to individuals by the registration authority.

Students who are in the intermediate level or Lower-Intermediate Level need to participate in some of the preparation levels, and after completing the prep5 level, they can attend each of the training courses of Translation department.

How to evaluate prep course:

The pass mark for the prep terms is 75 out of 100 and below 75 means the applicant needs to repeat the semester.

 

How to evaluate interpretation:

A developmental evaluation, based on the daily checklists, will be held in these courses.

 

How to evaluate translation:

A mid-term exam will be held at the eighth session and a final exam at the end of the fifteenth session. The scoring will be done objectively through a prefabricated checklist.
